Atlas is a public transit planning software. with Atlas, you can design, evaluate, and collaborate all in one place — from a small detour, to route timetable updates, to a full system redesign and everything in between.
Research
Background
Atlas GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification) is a common format for public transportation schedules and associated geographic information.
Via consumes this data and uses it for multiple products.
Via needs an easy way to mitigate errors, gaping between the externally consumed GTFS data and the internal data displayed in Via’s products.
Users

Needs
- Multilingual tool (not just the data)
- Ability to switch between formats of data
- Every operation must have a log so we can trace what people are doing and provide future reporting.
- History: the user that made the change, timestamp and what the user did.
- Overwritten data must be kept in a special place
